How Humidity and Temperature Affect Boxes

Humidity and temperature are two huge factors to consider when designing packaging to transport and store food products like dairy and beverages.

Environmental Conditions

Humidity, which is strongly influenced by temperature, is a huge factor to consider when designing packaging to transport and store food products like dairy and beverages.

Corrugated is an excellent choice! To help maintain their integrity, store boxes at:

  • 40% to 70% relative humidity
  • 40°F to 100°F temperatures
Boost Box Performance

When ideal storage conditions aren’t available and top performance is still required, there are three ways to boost box performance:

  1. Use paper made with virgin fibers.
  2. Add a resin to the adhesive.
  3. Use stronger and/or heavier paper.
