We constantly look for ways to “rightsize” our products, calculating and producing containers in the most effective size for transportation optimization and ensuring that we use no more material than absolutely necessary. This makes our products lighter and more space-efficient, and it takes less energy to ship them to our customers. An additional benefit is that our customers also consume less energy when shipping products to their customers, further reducing the carbon footprint.
The map of our facilities, shown here, illustrates another way PCA saves energy and reduces carbon emissions. By maintaining a broad network of corrugated plants, strategically positioned to serve our customers locally, we minimize transportation cost and energy use.
