Profiles with a Purpose

Profiles with a Purpose Title Overlayed onto Image of Roman Aqueduct

Providing architectural strength and reliability through the ages, the “ARCH” and the “COLUMN” are the workhorses of the corrugated FLUTE PROFILE.

ARCHES maintain structural rigidity, resist compression and withstand burst pressure from horizontal forces. They also act as insulators.

COLUMNS withstand crush pressure from stacking and other vertical forces.

A graphic showing the range of flute sizes—A, B, C, E and F—in descending order on the basis of flutes per foot and height.

Flute sizes are defined by the height of the corrugated flute and the number of flutes per foot.

A-Flute is the tallest at a height of approximately 3/18 of an inch (4.8 mm) and an average of 33 flutes per foot. In comparison, F-Flute is approximately 1/32 of an inch (.82 mm) tall with an average of 125 flutes per foot.

While A, B, C, E and F are the most popular and readily available flute sizes, there are others.
