This past holiday season, employees at PCA’s sheet plant in Huntsville, Alabama, worked overtime to help people in their community. Between Halloween and Christmas, Huntsville team members participated in three different volunteer efforts.
Two of their projects focused on health and wellness in their community. The plant’s Customer Service Manager organized a very successful blood drive with the American Red Cross. These blood drives require a minimum of 40 participants, but Huntsville went well above that number.
The plant also held a food drive for local families in need. After the employees’ donations were separated into meals, one of the plant’s Customer Service Representatives went door to door on a Saturday to make the deliveries. In addition to what had been collected at the plant, her family added meat and other items to the distribution.
Employees at Huntsville also sponsored and participated in Tinsel Trail, an annual event with the mission of encouraging and promoting the cultural, aesthetic, social and economic vitality of downtown Huntsville. PCA Huntsville’s General Manager, along with the Customer Service and Accounting departments, provided financial support and created a beautifully decorated tree.
