Recently PCA’s sheet plant in Roanoke, Virginia, proudly donated time, funds and corrugated boxes to the Local Office on Aging (LOA). The LOA helps older persons remain independent as long as possible by offering over 25 community services that provide nutrition, education, advocacy and socialization. Every June, LOA holds a “Let’s Do Lunch” fundraiser, selling boxed lunches to individuals in the Roanoke Valley to benefit Meals on Wheels and Nutrition Services. Every boxed lunch that is sold provides funding for two meals delivered through Meals on Wheels.
The Roanoke plant donated more than 3,000 packing boxes for “Let’s Do Lunch.” Office staff helped set up the boxes and also purchased 22 lunches, which provided funds for 44 future Meals on Wheels deliveries.
This marks the 15th year that PCA Roanoke employees have supported LOA as a way to give back to their community.
