PCA Huntsville is celebrating the graduation of Jordan Kearns, the plant’s first participant in the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program. Jordan earned a technical associate’s degree from Calhoun Community College. As part of Alabama’s FAME program, the degree combines a stringent classroom curriculum with real-world work experience.
As a sponsoring facility, PCA Huntsville trained Jordan in its day-to-day operations, and he learned first-hand the business principles and best practices of a world-class manufacturer.
According to Jordan, the most beneficial part of being a co-op student is “the experience of working with like-minded individuals who all have a common goal.” Jordan also has advice for future participants: “Take the program seriously and keep up with your assignments. Punctuality is key.”
