For the 22nd consecutive year, PCA’s full-line plants in Minneapolis and Golden Valley, Minnesota, raised money for Toys for Tots, a non-profit organization committed to providing toys, books and other gifts to underprivileged children. In 2016, the Twin Cities Toys for Tots campaign distributed over 225,000 gifts to more than 145,000 children.
This year Minneapolis and Golden Valley invited sister facilities in Omaha, Nebraska; Conrad, Iowa; and Marshalltown, Iowa; to join them and support the Toys for Tots organizations in their cities.
According to Jim Schneider, who has championed the effort at PCA Minneapolis for many years: “I’ve been sponsoring this initiative since 1996. We place the same crystal bowl at each facility, and employees are asked to guess the number of M&M’s in the bowl. They get to submit one guess for $.50 and three for $1.00. The person who comes closest without going over wins the bowl and the candy. We’ve raised almost $12,000. It’s easy, fun and very worthwhile!”
