Earlier this year, PCA participated in the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program. This program, which is administered by Step Up For Students, provides learning options to low-income families.
The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program allows companies that do business in the state to fund K–12 scholarships for underprivileged schoolchildren while earning a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. Through this program, participating families with children in grades K–12 can choose a private school or an out-of-district public school that best meets the individual needs of their children.
PCA is part of the corporate community that has pledged a total of $559 million this year. This funding will provide 91,000 scholarships that will be awarded by Step Up For Students in the 2016 – 2017 school year.
According to John Kirtley, Chairman of Step Up For Students, “Florida boasts the nation’s largest and most accountable corporate tax credit scholarship program, and we are honored to count Packaging Corporation of America among our list of supporters.”
