This past year, PCA’s sheet plant in Conrad, Iowa, graciously offered the BCLUW (Beaman, Conrad, Liscomb, Union and Whitten) Community School District use of their offices and phones for an evening phone-a-thon, which took place over four consecutive evenings.
This year marked the fifteenth year that the Conrad plant participated in the district’s efforts to raise money for a variety of scholastic needs, including scholarship money for graduating high school seniors. In the past, PCA employees have also helped make phone calls as part of the group of community volunteers.
The phone-a-thon team contacted thousands of people and raised over $20,000 in contributions.
According to the Conrad plant’s General Manager: “The BCLUW phone-a-thon is a wonderful cause, and we are thrilled to be able to offer them a home each year to help them raise money. This event enhances the local school system and provides scholarships for an advanced education.”
