PCA Salt Lake City Shares the Holiday Spirit
January 15, 2014
This past December, two of PCA’s facilities in Salt Lake City participated in the Utah Association for Intellectual Disabilities (UAID) Holiday Gift Box program. UAID is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping individuals of all ages within the community that are intellectually disabled and economically disadvantaged. The PCA employees from the plants, including those from the newly-acquired plant in the area, adopted 80 disadvantaged individuals. They brought the holiday spirit to people who in many cases would otherwise not have received holiday gifts.
The response from the PCA Salt Lake City employees was overwhelming, and more families were adopted than anticipated. According to the General Manager at the Salt Lake City full-line plant, “Taking part in UAID’s Holiday Gift Box program was a wonderful, fulfilling experience for me personally. It was even more rewarding to be able to be a part of something that everyone responded to so enthusiastically.”
