Summer Cookouts Make a Difference at PCA Tomahawk

August 14, 2013

At PCA, community outreach is a grassroots effort and takes on different forms at each of our facilities. Our employees embrace various initiatives in response to the needs in their local communities.

At our containerboard mill in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, our employees host an annual series of cookouts to raise funds for organizations in need. This year, the mill will host nine fundraising cookouts from April through September. Mill employees and local contractors can purchase barbecue fare, and all proceeds from the cookouts are donated to a local charity.

In past years, funds raised from these cookouts have supported local chapters of organizations such as the American Cancer Society; The Salvation Army; the Muscular Dystrophy Association; and HAVEN, Inc., a shelter for domestic abuse victims.

In 2012 alone, Tomahawk raised over Tomahawk Cookout$12,000 for these charities and hopes to exceed that amount in 2013.

PCA is proud of its team at Tomahawk and their efforts to make a difference in their community.
