What do a spaceship and an orange have in common? They are products from two of the largest industries in Florida. Based on gross state product, Florida has the fourth largest economy of all U.S. states.
Late last year, Florida Governor Rick Scott was promoting the passage of a state law that grants manufacturing companies tax exemption on purchases of machinery essential to production. He met with manufacturers throughout Florida, and PCA’s full-line plant in Jacksonville was honored to host him at their facility for a tour and discussion.
The legislation received plenty of support from the House and Senate, and Governor Scott will soon sign a bill to make the manufacture’s tax exemption a permanent state law.
PCA was an appropriate stop for the Governor because PCA is a significant contributor to Florida’s manufacturing industry, providing goods and services, as well as jobs in the Sunshine State.
