This past spring and summer, PCA’s containerboard mill in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, held cookouts to raise money for several area charities. Sponsored by the facility's Tomahawk Mill Charity Club (TMCC), the cookouts benefitted local organizations such as Kinship of Tomahawk, a youth mentoring program.
The TMCC is comprised of both employees and retirees who volunteered to organize and host the cookouts. The events were open to all employees, vendors, contractors and mill visitors. In total, an impressive 1,000 burgers were sold and over $4,000 was raised.
According to one volunteer and member of Tomahawk’s administrative team, “The Tomahawk Mill Charity Club is proud to hold these cookouts and to donate the proceeds to area charities. This is just one of many activities the mill sponsors throughout the year to help the surrounding community.”
Members of the Tomahawk mill’s TMCC prepare to serve burgers at one of this year’s charity cookouts.
